For several centuries, a large Russian agricultural fair was held in Suzdal. This fair was called - the Venerable or Euphrosinean, as it was held on the day honored in Suzdal by St. Euphrosyne. A fair was arranged on the square opposite the Rizpolozhensky monastery, in which the “miracle-worker” Euphrosyne lived in the XIII century. In the center of the square, a prayer service with water consecration took place at a specially arranged place, all the fairgrounds were sprinkled with holy water. Raised the flag of the fair. Trade was conducted in industrial goods, agricultural products, and horse trade was conducted. The years of socialism interrupted this tradition. In 2007, at the initiative of the administration of the Suzdal District, the fair was revived again.

Today's fair is held in compliance with the old traditions. Every year, on the first Saturday of October, manufacturers of agricultural products, craftsmen of folk arts and crafts gather at the Trade Square of Suzdal. Every year the number of fair participants is growing. Merchants from Vladimir, Ivanovo, Yaroslavl, Kostroma, Lipetsk, Voronezh and other regions come to the fair.

At the fair, you can not only purchase the necessary products, but also treat yourself to traditional Russian dishes, dishes prepared according to recipes of Old Believers, as well as products listed in the Red Book of Taste, listen to the performance of folklore groups, as well as take part in various contests and fair lottery with unusual prizes.

For the younger guests of the fair, a separate entertainment program has been prepared with a puppet theater, contact zoo, games and fun.
