Moreover, on the occasion of 15-years anniversary since diplomatic relations were established, of the Day of Armed Forces of Ukraine and 90-years anniversary of Ukrainian diplomatic service, on December 17, 2007 in Abu Dhabi a gala reception took place under participation of UAE’s officials, businesspeople, journalists, foreign diplomats and Ukrainian nationals who live and work in the UAE.

HE Sergei Pasko, Ukraine’s Ambassador to the UAE, in the complimentary address highlighted significant achievements in the development of relations between the two countries and emphasized the firm intention of Ukraine to actively promote cooperation with the UAE which has shown, in the last years, positive dynamics. In this context, the Ukrainian diplomat has informed the participants on the opening in the next days in Sharjah of the maintenance centre of Motor-Sich joint stock company which was a co-organizer of the event. In accordance with the preliminary understanding with the management of Ukrainian aviation enterprise, the commencement of operation of this centre has been specifically timed to the celebration of 15-years anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two states.

In his speech, the Ukrainian Ambassador has also mentioned the theme of celebration of 90-years anniversary of Ukrainian diplomatic service; he stated the long-term traditions of Ukraine in this area and his country’s aspiration for using this instrument as a principal one when solving all international issues. Vasylenko, Attache on Defense Issues, outlined main achievements in development and reformation of Ukrainian army; he declared the immutability of Ukraine’s policy as to the gradual approach to the EU and NATO standards in this sphere. He informed the audience on successes of Ukrainian peacekeepers when performing peacemaking operations and international exercises. The Attache also recollected the Ukrainian Insurgent Army whose 65-years anniversary was commemorated in Ukraine in October 2007.

In December, 2007 in Dubai was held the international motorcar exhibition. In this exhibition also took part Ukrainian company”Lex-Auto” and “Transenergo” company. This event was also visited by Sergiy Pasko, the ambassador of Ukraine in UAE. Local Englishand Arab-speaking mass media gave a special attention to the fact that Ukrainian company takes part in such an important event as International motorcar salon in Dubai. And considering the opportunity, they immediately interviewed the ambassador. In his interview Mr. Pasko especially signified the growth of commodity turnover among Ukraine and UAE, he also outlined the activity of Ukraine Trade Center in Dubai, especially the success, gained by UTC in organizing International forum ”Spheres of co-operations between Ukraine and UAE”.

In November of the past year there was also held the business-forum “Leaders in Dubai 2007”. Ukraine Trade Center represented Ukraine at this authoritative meeting. The company’s stands, that represented Ukraine, were also visited by the Ukrainian ambassador in UAE Segiy Pasko. Ukraine Trade Center initiated to give an honorable reward to Mr. Pasko for personal contribution in the development of Ukraine – Emirates relations. The rewarding procedure was held during the business-forum and won a great attention from the local Englishand Arab-speaking mass media.
